Who is the open day suitable for?

Our open day is suitable for new climbers between the ages of 7-15. If your child has climbed before, or never at all, this serves as a great introduction to our NICAS climbing classes where your child can learn the foundations of climbing and become a safe, competent climber.

How do I prepare my child for the session?

Dress your child in comfortable, flexible clothing that allows for easy movement. All safety equipment and climbing shoes will be provided on the day. Feel free to bring a water bottle and a small snack for afterwards.

What are the benefits of completing the NICAS course?

Completing the NICAS Course provides several benefits. You will gain official recognition of your climbing skills, which can be a great boost to your confidence and motivation. Start Your Journey In Climbing

Perfect for kids aged 7-15, our free NICAS open day is the perfect way to see all that climbing has to offer.

With regular 1.5 hour sessions throughout the day, your child can get a taster of our climbing classes and see if it's the right fit for them.

Our qualified instructors will guide them through their first climbing lesson as they start their National Indoor Climbing Awards Scheme.

They'll learn:

How to climb safety
How to tie their harness into the rope
The foundations of belaying

And so much more. All in a safe, fun & social learning environment.

Our new term starts the following Monday (2nd September). There's never been a better time to give climbing a try.

Went to the Brimham Rocks rock climbing session with my 9 year old on Saturday. Absolutely brilliant. The leaders were fantastic too. We had a great time and thought it was brilliant value. We’ll be back again and recommend. Thanks!
