The History Of LFT
Since the beginning, we've been on a mission to share our love of the great outdoors – all to create adventure experiences that make you feel alive.
The Beginning
It all started in 2012 when Marc & Dan met at Harrogate climbing wall. When they took a winter climbing trip to Austria, the idea for Live For Today was born, with us quickly launching our body zorbing in a Harrogate famers field.
Moving Into Our First Castle
After meeting the manager of Hazlewood Castle at a Harrogate business safari, we soon moved into their 70 acre woodland in Leeds, bringing Quad Biking, Archery, Air Rifles and more to their stunning castle grounds.
The Second Castle Joins The Fold
We leave the farm, moving our first activity centre up the road to the grounds of the magical Ripley Castle in Harrogate. We also launched our offsite adventures, taking customers caving, climbing and more in the Yorkshire Dales.
Launching Our Third Activity Centre
2015 saw us expand into the Lake District as Geoff joined the company, bringing Castle Green, Kendal, into the LFT family alongside a host of new activities like Paddleboarding, Canoeing and more.
A New Head Office
Our Ripley Castle activity centre continues to grow as we move our head office into the castle.
Summer Camps Launch
We launch our first kids summer camp at Ripley Castle, inviting young adventurers to join us for an unforgettable summer of adventure.
Princes Trust
2018 saw us begin our longstanding relationship with the Princes Trust, further sharing our passion and love for adventure.
Bringing The Adventure Indoors
Keeping things fresh, we launched our first escape rooms in Ripley Castle, bringing the thrill of adventure into the heart of the castle.
COVID-19
BOOM! COVID-19 knocks us to the ground. We're down, but not out!
The Road To Recovery
We find our feet, strip back to basics and slowly start to get back up. Somehow we had one of our busiest years to date.
The Year Of BIG!
Bigger quads, bigger sessions & bigger bookings. We're well in to our COVID-19 recovery.
Strong Foundations
2023 saw us grow our core team, bringing on more full time staff, a dedicated marketing manager and a brand new plan to expand across Yorkshire.
A Story Full Circle
Remember that climbing wall from earlier? Well this year we bought it, bringing our story full circle. 2024 stands among the best years at LFT, from Disc Golf at Ripley Castle, to woodland cabins, and purchasing Parthian Climbing Harrogate, what else does the year have in store?
Meet Our Team
We're a spirited team on a mission to thrill and delight our adventurers. Committed to making every experience unforgettable, we bring passion and dedication to new heights.
