Terms & Conditions
Our terms and conditions ensure we can provide you with the best possible experience at Live For Today.
Below you can find the Live For Today Terms & Conditions covering our general terms of service, and cancellation-specific terms.
Cancellation
Please see below your options for cancellation / re-arrangement of your event.
Cancellation Of Full Event
More than 4 weeks before your event, loss of 50% of the total booking value.
Less than 4 weeks before your event, loss of full payment (100%).
Date Amendments
For any amendment greater than 4 weeks before your event, no charge is applied.
For any amendment less than 4 weeks before your event, a 10% admin fee (minimum £25) will be applied per booking.
Please note we cannot accept any amendments within 48 hours of your event.
For any date amendment, or a booking requested to be put on hold, a new date must be booked and confirmed within 6 months. Failure to do so will result in the booking being treated as a cancellation, and the cancellation terms above will apply.
Drop In Numbers
For any drop in numbers more than 4 weeks before your event, loss of 50% of the total booking value for each person.
For any drop in numbers less than 4 weeks before your event, loss of full payment for each person (100%).
Your booking usually prevents others from booking at a specific time on a specific date, and is therefore subject to a recognised cancellation policy for sporting and leisure activity bookings. Contracts for leisure services to be supplied on a specific date are exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation ("cooling-off") right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. This means that, once your booking is confirmed, your right to cancel without penalty ends, and the charges set out above will apply.
Our accepted date of cancellation is when your written cancellation is acknowledged in writing by us, by email to theteam@live-for-today.com or by post to the address below. If catering or any other third-party supply is included in your package, this may also be subject to separate cancellation charges. The 4-week rule (28 days) includes weekends and bank holidays. Any reduction in numbers must also be requested in writing and acknowledged in writing by us to be considered valid — the same cancellation charges set out above apply to any reduction in numbers. Verbal changes and cancellations are not accepted in any circumstances.
General
Please find below our general booking terms and conditions:
Health & Safety
Due to the nature of our activities, they are physically demanding and carry the potential for minor injury. Please read the following carefully and, where relevant, seek advice from your doctor or from us (Live For Today Ltd) regarding:
Pregnancy
Back pain or muscle injuries
High blood pressure
Epilepsy or similar conditions
Booking Process
We accept bookings by email (theteam@live-for-today.com), via the contact form on our website, or by telephone (01423 229780). All bookings require either a deposit or full payment at the time of booking to hold the date and time requested; we will confirm which applies at the time of booking.
The remaining balance is due 4 weeks (28 days) before your event.
Confirmation
On receipt of the required payment and a final availability check, you will receive confirmation of your booking, which will detail full venue contact details and any other specific information, together with a receipt for your payment. If you do not receive these details, please contact us immediately — if you fail to do so and are subsequently unable to find the venue, you must accept full responsibility. We can be contacted by phone seven days a week between 9am and 5pm on 01423 229780; alternatively, we have a voicemail system in place and aim to reply to any message within 24 hours. Please have full details of your booked event to hand.
Unavoidable Circumstances
If an activity is cancelled due to bad weather or other circumstances outside our reasonable control (including, for example, public health restrictions), your booking will be rescheduled to a mutually convenient date, which you may choose up to three months after the original date. Refunds are not available in these circumstances. Should you only be in the area of your booked event for a limited period and be unable to return to the same venue, we will provide either a credit voucher for the value of your event, or hold your payment on account so you can book a more conveniently located venue on a date of your choosing, up to three months after the original date. Where the disruption is significant or ongoing, we will extend this rebooking period as reasonably necessary.
Refusal Of Access
We reserve the right, at any stage of a booking, to refuse a participant access to an activity, or to remove them from a venue, where in our reasonable opinion they: are under the permitted age; do not meet the activity's height or weight requirements; are unfit to take part in the activity for reasons of physical or mental impairment that cannot reasonably be accommodated by a suitable adjustment; are under the influence of alcohol or drugs; arrive too late for the pre-activity safety briefing; pose a danger to themselves, other participants, or staff; or display aggressive or abusive behaviour (verbal or physical). Where any of these apply, the booking will be treated as cancelled and the cancellation charges set out above will apply.
Personal Safety And Health Requirements
While our activities are made as safe as reasonably possible given their inherent physical risks, all safety instructions, directions and warnings must be followed at all times. You must listen carefully to all safety briefings and wear any required safety equipment or clothing correctly. If in doubt, ask a member of the team immediately. You must not attempt to exceed your own capabilities or engage in reckless behaviour beyond what the activity requires. You take part in the activity in full knowledge of the risks involved, and accept responsibility for your own safety and that of any minors in your care. You may be asked to sign a disclaimer confirming you are medically and mentally fit to take part; if you decline to sign, you will not be able to take part, and this will be treated as a cancellation. If you are in any doubt about your fitness for an activity, please check with your GP before booking.
Activity Descriptions And Restrictions
All activities are described in as much detail as possible and are correct at the time each booking is made. All timings for activities are the total time for the session, not an indication of a per-person allocation. From time to time, activities may change in price, type or duration. Our team will make every effort to provide additional information about any of our activities; however, customers are expected to have familiarised themselves with the activity description and all restrictions — including height, weight and age restrictions — as detailed on our website before booking. We cannot accept responsibility for an inappropriate booking where you have not familiarised yourself with these details before booking. This is your responsibility.
Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with your activity in any respect, or have any other complaint about the activity provider, venue or its performance, please raise this with the team on the day so we can try to resolve it together. It will not generally be considered reasonable to raise dissatisfaction for the first time after the event. If you take part in an activity — whether the one originally booked or a reasonable replacement offered on the day — this will be taken as an indication that the activity was acceptable to you, and a complaint raised afterwards is unlikely to be upheld. For complaints about the booking process itself, please email theteam@live-for-today.com. All communications with Customer Services must be in writing so that both parties have a clear record. Once received, we will investigate and respond after gathering the necessary information.
Refunds
Where you are eligible for a refund, the maximum amount payable will be the sums you have paid us; this does not extend to consequential loss or any claimed inconvenience or stress. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If you take part in all or part of a booked activity, this will negate any refund claim in respect of that activity, regardless of the circumstances in which you took part.
Regulatory Compliance
This company complies with the regulations and guidelines set by the Competition and Markets Authority and Trading Standards for the services we offer. We welcome inspection of our processes in this regard.
Data Protection
We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. These require that personal data be:
processed lawfully, fairly and transparently;
collected for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes;
adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary;
accurate and kept up to date;
kept for no longer than necessary;
processed securely; and
processed in line with the rights of the individuals it relates to.
Trademarks And Brand Name
Our brand is well known within the UK and has acquired both registered and unregistered rights in its trademarks, domain names and logos. No one may use our name, trademarks, domain names or logos for any purpose without our express written permission. Any unlawful use of our brand will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
Our Terms
All bookings are subject to these terms and conditions without exception. Customers are deemed to have made themselves aware of these Terms & Conditions and to have accepted them in full as part of their booking with us. No verbal or other communication overrides these terms in any respect.
Severability
The provisions, clauses and paragraphs in these Terms and Conditions should be read and construed independently of each other. If any provision, clause or paragraph is held to be invalid or unenforceable, it will be struck out and the remaining provisions will continue in force.
Statutory Rights
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Force Majeure
We will not be liable for any delay or failure to carry out our obligations under these terms where that delay or failure is caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, civil disorder or industrial action.
Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right under these terms is not to be regarded as a waiver of that right unless the waiver is confirmed in writing. Where we do waive a right under these terms, this will not prevent us from enforcing that right at any time in the future.
Privacy Policy
For details of how we use your data, please see our Privacy Policy, available in the footer of our website. All information we hold is kept securely and in compliance with current GDPR regulations, and will not be passed on to third parties.
Climbing Centre Membership
Monthly Membership
This is a dues-paying membership, valid for one site only. Memberships begin from the date of purchase and continue indefinitely until otherwise terminated. Initial membership dues are calculated on a pro-rata basis. Thereafter, the selected dues will be paid on the first working day of the month to Live For Today Ltd by means of a recurring card payment (Continuous Payment Authority — CPA). Memberships can be frozen upon request for up to twelve months, free of charge. All membership freezes and terminations take effect on the first working day of the month. To freeze, terminate, update payment details or make any changes to a membership, an online membership change form must be completed at least 48 hours prior to the next billing date via our website. No pro-rata refunds are given on termination. If you do not pay your membership fee when due, we will email you to let you know and will attempt to take payment again later in the month. If unsuccessful but your CPA is still in force, we will attempt payment again the following month, along with the amount due for that current month. If your account has any outstanding dues, this will prevent you or any linked members (adults or children) from entering our centre until dues are paid. This does not, in itself, end your membership. If two consecutive CPA payments are declined, Live For Today Ltd reserves the right to apply a £5 administration fee and terminate the membership. Where a membership has been terminated, the customer remains obligated to pay all past-due balances in full, and the account will not be reactivated until this has been done. Live For Today Ltd reserves the right to make changes to the dues or terms of membership at its discretion. Notice of any changes will be given in good time to allow you to cancel your membership before they take effect. All notices will be sent electronically to the email address provided.
Family Monthly Membership
Standard Monthly Membership Terms and Conditions apply. Family Monthly Memberships are only available for two or more immediate family members, ideally residing at the same address. If an individual family membership is cancelled, reducing the member count below two, the remaining member will revert to the standard membership rate from the next billing date. For more details, please see our Monthly Membership rates.
Pre-Paid Membership
Memberships are valid from the date of purchase. Memberships can be frozen at any time; to do so, an online membership change form must be completed via our website. No refunds or exchanges are available on Pre-Paid Memberships.
Punch Passes
Punch Passes are valid for a maximum of twelve months from the date of purchase. No refunds or exchanges are available on Punch Passes that are not used in full.
