Will I get wet doing watersports & do I need spare clothes?

Not 100% but very likely. Make sure to bring a full change of clothes and spare shoes to change into. We will take our time to get you to stand up. Once up we’ll go on a journey down towards Ripley Castle. When we get back we will start playing a variety of games and developing your skills, it’s this point when you are likely to get wet. Very good fun though!

Do you provide wetsuits for watersports?

We do have some cags and wetsuits you can borrow if you need, but numbers are limited. Everyone will be provided with a buoyancy aid. You’re also welcome to bring your own wetsuits.

Do you have changing rooms for watersports?

Yes we have basic changing rooms onsite, but not for our offsite adventures.

Do you provide safety equipment for watersports?

Yes, we provide buoyancy aids and helmets for people taking part in our watersports activities.

Can we do watersports if the weather is bad?

Paddleboarding is a weather-dependent activity. In case of bad weather, we will reschedule your session for a safer and more enjoyable experience.

My sons went to Live For Today for the May half-term holiday camp and had a great time. They've tried most of the other holiday camp options in and around Harrogate now, and LFT is the only one that still gets the thumbs up for a return visit. The activities are brilliant: challenging them while also having a lot of fun. They loved zorbing, high ropes, kayaking, and of course jumping in the lake. They've also enjoyed the games in-between activities, and the 'bants' with the group and instructors/group leaders.

The whole session kayaking with Ben, our instructor, was great. He was very clear on the safety & equipment briefing & very encouraging to our son who was quite anxious about kayaking on open water, having never done it before. Ben’s reassuring nature & friendly approach soon won him over & he went from anxious to smiling & joking in no time whilst kayaking with the rest of the family. The equipment was all well maintained & fitted well for everyone. We had a relaxed & extremely fun session for my daughters birthday celebrations. We’d certainly like to have a go at some of the other activities offered in the future too.

When I heard we were going to a hen party to do some activities I was a little sceptical and thought it might feel a little like a school trip. I was so wrong! We did 3 activities: Body Zorbing and the Cryptic Chase with instructor Lee, and kayaking with Rich. We had the best time. The instructors quickly caught on to the fact we were a competitive lot and really catered for that and encouraged it. They were really relaxed and chilled and we never felt rushed to finish the activity. We had such a laugh and having lunch at the tea rooms inbetween activities was lovely too. I would definitely recommend doing this and I will be going again!
