Tranquil Waters, Big Smiles: Paddleboarding at Ripley Castle
Glide across the tranquil waters of Ripley Castle’s historic lake and discover why Stand Up Paddleboarding is Yorkshire’s most uplifting adventure.
If you’re hunting for an adventure that blends calm, countryside beauty with a splash of adrenaline, our Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) open sessions at Ripley Castle are just the ticket.
Set on a serene castle lake in the heart of Yorkshire, this is paddling paradise—where glassy water meets historic views and beginner-friendly fun.
What to Expect: From Bank to Board with Confidence
We’ll ease you in with a lively introduction and fun warm-up on the bank—nothing too serious, just enough to get the body moving and the laughs flowing.
Then it’s time to kit up.
We provide everything: your board, paddle, leash, and all essential safety gear. No faff, no stress.
Start kneeling: We begin in a relaxed kneeling position to help you find your balance, master the paddle strokes, and get a feel for the board.
Stand when you’re ready: Feeling steady? Rise to your feet and take in the views of Ripley Castle and its stunning lakes. With our coaching and a calm-water setting, standing up becomes a “when,” not an “if.”
Across a full 3 hours—from gearing up to winding down—you’ll learn new skills, explore the lake, and leave with that unmistakable post-adventure glow.
Whether your goal is zen-like cruising or playful splashing with friends, we’ll meet you where you’re at.
